our story
Having grown up amoung the outdoors of the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, Mary Spotswood cultivated a great respect for the land and an interest in the regional influence on food.
After graduating from the University of the South in Sewanee, TN with a degree in Fine Arts and Art History she wanted to further explore her passion for food and enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu in London. While earning her certificates in cuisine and patisserie, she was able to combine her love of art and food. She learned that how a dish is presented is equal in importance to the flavors it embodies.
Mary Spotswood then put her passions and skills to use working in a catering kitchen in Birmingham, AL. There she also worked as an event coordinator and freelanced in product styling, food styling, and recipe development for magazines.
Getting offered her dream job as Cookbook Editor and Project Manager for FRP (Favorite Recipes Press), Mary Spotswood moved to Nashville and quickly decided to call it home. After FRP closed their doors, Mary Spotswood felt it was time to reinvent herself professionally while also becoming a mom.
Mary Spotswood now finds her passion in helping others entertain successfully seasonally and tries to find the sweet spot between being a mom of three young boys and getting all of her creative girly energy out!
